The fall 2018 NSF-ATE workshops closed out in with participant presentations at the BCC Geospatial Center of the CUNY CREST Institute (BGCCCI). All participants were engaged in inquiry based workshops that were held on ten consecutive saturdays starting in October, 2018 and ending in December, 2018. Most of them had limited or no prior knowledge in geospatial technology but left the program with spatial awareness. One of the many ways to empower youth may be to offer intensive inquiry based hands-on workshops where they are able to interact with leading academicians and experts from academia and industry. The fall program highlights were a large number of females participants from resource poor institutions who completed all the hands-on exercises and the active involvement of their parents.
